Nature Provides Her Own Insect Repellent

There is a mystery and romance associated with nature’s essential oils and their subtle healing touch. We continue to be the beneficiaries of their medicinal, cosmetic, aromatic and harmonising effects.

Aromatherapy is rapidly gaining respect as a therapy for many ailments such as sleep disorders, tension, skin conditions & coughs just to mention a few.

Essential oils are pure and unadulterated and an affordable luxury. Essential oils should never be confused with fragrant cheaper options which have no medicinal or healing qualities at all.

The purest of natures aromatherapy oils can provide us with many solutions that we might not readily think of.

Here is a quick tip from a friend. Why not try it for yourself.

“I love summer and love entertaining with BBQs however we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Although commercially prepared insect repellents worked, I was anxious about using chemicals, especially on small children and they left us all smelling awful. I had some success with citronella candles however they also smelt awful. Then I stumbled onto the perfect solution. Lavender is an insect repellent. Insects hate it. I planted a few plants around our outdoor area and burn a lavender candle and this has made a big difference. Finally, I keep a bottle of pure lavender oil nearby and as everyone comes outside I give them a little dab of insect oil on their elbows, wrists and a couple on their ankles (strangely this is the area that insect attack the most!) Problem solved. Now we eat, drink and enjoy without any concern. Furthermore, we all smell lovely”.
